Women's Weekend

Picture

Every year, during the weekend after Labor Day, GS Nor Cal Alumnae from all over converge on Camp Bothin for fun, food, friendship, song, crafts and laughter.  It's our annual Women's Weekend!  This event is 'just for fun' but does include our annual membership meeting at Saturday's lunch.

Women's Weekend 2023

Thanks to Marcia McGallian and Karen Johnson for chairing the event.

Frequently Asked Questions for the 2022 Event

What Covid precautions are being taken? Our Covid-19 measures are subject to change as
guidance from GSNorCal changes. Currently, we are requiring proof of a negative Covid-19 test
within 72 hours prior to your planned arrival at the event. We are not planning to require attendees
to wear a mask and meals will be served inside the dining hall. You may, of course, choose to
wear a mask.

Where will I sleep? Camp Bothin has a variety of houses with bunkbeds and shared
bathrooms. A cot and mattress are provided; you must bring your pillow/linens/sleeping bag. The
bathrooms in the houses are all recently renovated and ADA accessible. There are a limited
number of first floor beds. If you need one for ADA reasons, please note that when you register.

What will I eat? Meals are served communally at the dining hall. You will receive breakfast,
lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning before heading home. (Friday
night dinner will not be provided so please plan on eating prior to arriving or bring a brown bag
dinner.) Some special food requirements can be accommodated but MUST be communicated
during registration.

Should I bring extra food/snacks? It is not necessary unless you have dietary needs.
What if I need Special Accommodations? If you have food allergies/dietary restrictions, mobility
issues, or need electricity for a medical device, please communicate your needs on your
registration form.

Will I have to do kapers? Everyone at camp is expected to do kapers. A kaper is a job or chore
that is assigned, usually on a kaper chart. During registration, you can sign up for kapers. Please
do your part to help out. All attendees are expected to clean and sweep sleeping areas and
perform your kapers before leaving camp. Many hands make light work!

What forms do I need? You must bring with you a completed GSNorCal Adult Health
Form. (This is a new, more extensive health form - please begin filling it in early.)

May I bring my minor children or pet? No, this is an event for registered adults (18 and over)
only. Working service dogs are allowed.

What is the terrain like at Camp Bothin? The terrain is mostly flat, with paved roads, gravel
parking lots, and the houses have stairs.

Still have questions? Specific questions about Women's Weekend 2022 that are not addressed here, should be
